C$1200, 聽起來很像是harbour front那一排高級Condo大廈低樓層的租金~ 我一個朋友住在Mount Sinai Hospital附近那一區的公寓大樓, 兩房一廳加兩個車位單月租金是C$950.
買書要考慮版本這件事, 有些書有分北美版跟亞洲版, 內容不太一樣. 吃飯這件事, 我反而覺得加拿大的中餐館便宜一點, 台灣這幾年愛搞精緻美食, 吃一餐下來也是很嚇人的.

其實1200是我以前在Rosedale住的價錢... 我另一個朋友當時住St.Clair也是這個價, 或許近Forest Hill的住處都很貴.

7% tax will be charged on all foods. If you eat at restaurants, 10% ~ 15% tips apply. (10% at Chinese or Japanese restaurant is OK, but in better Western restaurants, 15% applies)
- A bowl of "ramen" costs about $7~8 CAD plus 7% tax & 10% tips = about CAD $10 per person;
- Baked seafood cheese rice/noodles costs about $10 ~11 CAD plus 7% tax & 10% tips = CAD $12 ~13 per person;
- Hong Kong sytle "Yam Cha" at Chinese restaurant usually costs about $15 CAD per person for lunch including tax & tips
- Steak at Western restaurants costs avg $20 CAD plus tax & tips;
- A burger costs about $3 ~ 4 CAD before tax @ MacDonald, a combo meal costs $6~7 plus tax; subway sandwich costs about $6~8 before tax depending on size & what kind;
- A sandwich meal at cafe downstairs my office costs me nearly $8 CAD for lunch;
- "All-you-can-eat" dinner for hot pot is $17.95 plus tax & tips, for Japanese "All-you can-eat" dinner is about $19.95 plus tax & tips;
- Bubble Tea or any Chinese drinks at tea house costs $CAD 5 plus tax & tips;
- Movie ticket is about $12 CAD
- Kareoke nowadays maybe $15~20 CAD per person
- Bus fair : if you buy monthly pass for two zones is a little over $100 CAD plus tax. You might be able to get concession price if you are student. But don't know if qualify under language school.
- Other stuff: shampoo costs $3~10 depending what brands & where you buy; tampon costs $4~5 (strongly recommend that you bring it from Taiwan).
