Habana Central: La Terraza Hostal en Havana

初念
原因:

Hostal的東主兒子好衰格, 同我們說我們的房間被由同樣由香港來的2個男人租了,詐底問我們想要what kind of room do we like? 上面的window no curtain, no cover. 樓下難叫Cuba Taxi (很多無牌Taxi, not dare to take it.

Don’t take cold water bath.

6. 東主兒子, wife, daughter and fat younger brother live in another separate house. The original house has been divided into 2 flats. One bigger fat is for old couples with travelers. Another flat houses their 2 sons, daughter-in-law and grand daughter. I saw the fat son sitting in the living room for 10 minutes on 27 March, 2013in one day only. The eldest one and his daughter appeared in the hostal for 30 minutes on 26 March, 2013.

We also booked two great casa in Habana and Valle de Vinales. There were no overbooking. We lived in three casa in Cuba. Only one Casa was overbooking. Not all Casa in Cuba are practicing overbooking policy.

I have visited 47 countries (including Africa, U.S.A., South America, North America, South East Asia and several Arabian Countries including Iran), half of China's major tourist provinces and cities, 3/4 of major tourist cities/sites of Taiwan and dived in ten countries. I have lived in places from poor hostels of developing countries to 5-star hotel. I know the standard of poor hostels of developing countries. Many 1-star or 2-star hostels of developing countries also provide double bed rooms with private bathroom (hot water in the bathroom) with air-conditioning/fan at very low price. However, La Terraza Hostal en Havana cannot provide air-conditioning and hot water in bathroom. Therefore, it is poor and it is dorm's quality in our eyes. I agreed with you. La Terraza Hostal en Havana is a good hostel to live if a traveler have very low quality requirement of a hostel’s room or he/she wants to live in a shared dorm.

How many countries did you travel abroad? No need other Hong Kong people to teach me about the normal standard of hostels of developing countries. You had much travel experience, so did I.

I only told you that the son of the hostel was bad. I agreed with you that the mother was friendly at the beginning. I also praised that all backpackers are smart who traveled alone and could live in dorm. (Not all travelers can live in dorm. We may feel insure with our personal belongings. Not all travelers can travel alone. They have to be very independent and tolerate a sense of boring.) I just told you about our bad experience in La Terraza Hostal. I previously didn’t say any bad words about you. You were over-reacted.

It is very strange that I complained about the poor quality of this hostel. It is very common to find similar comments of some popular casa in Havana's old town from google/tripadvisors.com. Many travelers complained about over-booking policy and noise environment of some hostels especially popular Casa in Cuba. They told other travelers not to book such hostels. No overseas traveler personally attacked them. I did the same thing and hope other Chinese travelers not to face the same situation in the future. Is Hong Kong culture so different from western one?

The quality of hostels will affect traveler's sleeping quality. We all need enough sleeping and energy to visit and enjoy our journey. We all need to take 20-30 hour in airplanes from Hong Kong to U.S.A., Mexico and Cuba. Enough sleeping is very essential for our recovery.

No one can guarantee that the character of hostel owner never changes. No one can guarantee when a casa becomes popular, the owner will become greedy and wants to fill in all vacant rooms by adopting over-booking policy and cheating overseas customers. I just inform you that the hostel owner is now adopting over-booking policy during Easter Holiday / hot season. No one can guarantee if this hostel owner will cancel over-booking policy as it make him and his family earns more in the short term. If a Chinese traveler is facing the same situation in future, will you refund payment to them? I strongly believe that not all Chinese travelers are looking for dorm's quality of Cuba casa. Different people have different perception on all things. You request other people to understand and accept your basic requirement of a Casa, you also need to accept my basic requirement and expectation of a Casa. All in all, it was my fault to misunderstand your basic requirement of a Cuba Casa and chose to live in such hostel with dorm's quality. Sorry!

In Cuba, there are over 5000 casas. Did you visit all casa in Cuba? There are many types of casa in Cuba. All travellers have many choices. Let them to choose a suitable casa to fill in their needs and expectation.
