some questions in Chiang Mai

HI!!
i am in Chiangg Mai right now and have some problems...
1.I wanna go to Pai, i remember somebody said i can take public bus to go there, but i can't find the article now. would you plz tell
me how and where to take the bus and how much it takes.
2.Laos is my next target, but i do't have the visa yet. should i do the visa in chiang mai or in boarder?(maybe spell wrong, poor english sorry) and i stay in nice place 2(they charge me 250B for a double room/per night :-@ ), Laos visa service here is 1250B, is that reasonable price? can you guys recommand any nice travel agency?(plz tell me how to get there. i got lost in chiang mai last night. )
3.another question about visa, can i apply Cambodia visa in Laos?
