芝加哥2007年活動報告
別在我墳前哭髒我的輪回路
一年一度世界最大(根據Wikipedia)的美食節Taste of Chicago又將於6/29隆重登場.為期10天於downtown的Grant Park舉行.今年大約有70多家餐廳參與.
去年這個活動在10天內吸引了將近360萬人次.算是芝加哥每年最大的活動之一.
很多參與的餐廳並不是在一般觀光區裏,所以這算是一個可以集中品嘗芝加哥各式餐飲的好機會.不過在這裡吃通常會比在他們餐廳裏吃要貴很多.而且餐廳也只能挑適合戶外擺攤的食物賣,所以你也不可能會有在餐廳裏吃的多樣選擇就是了.
食物價錢的記法是以多少張票為計費單位,而不是以現金交易.所以開始你要先去散佈在公園許多區域的票亭買票,一聯11張票$7.可以刷卡.通常有一個窗口只接受現金.買了票之後,你就可以到各攤位去點了.
除了吃以外,每天還有烹飪表演,免費音樂演唱及多樣娛樂.6/30和7/1剛好又是一年一度的鄉村音樂節.老牌鄉村音樂歌手Kenny Rogers也會來演唱.

Victoria's Secret PINK 將在7/13於密西根湖畔靠近市中心北邊的North Avenue Beach舉行.去年在紐約舉行吸引了將近3000人參與.當天晚上North Avenue Beach會場將佈置成粉紅世界.現場會有DJ和演唱.如果粉紅是你的顏色,穿上一身粉紅去參加吧.穿著粉紅入場的女生可以拿到免費禮物.現場也會販賣Victoria Secret衣物.派對不限女性,男士也可參加.

芝加哥國慶煙火與許多城市不同的是她是在7/3晚上舉行,而不是7/4國慶日當天.
煙火從9:30pm開始,施放時間約20分鐘.施放地點在市中心Grant Park旁的密西根湖畔.Downtown的湖畔區域都可以看到.很多人從下午就會去站湖邊的位置,不過依照我每年去看的經驗,雖然人潮洶湧,但是我晚上8點多去還是有可能找到好位置.
當天傍晚開始大眾運輸都會加班.能運用大眾運輸就盡量用大眾運輸.一百萬的人潮在散場後是要花很多時間疏散的.開車進城的話,最好停遠一點.停在downtown裏的停車場,散場後註定要花一兩個小時才開的出市中心.

願時光盜不走我的愛人
Chicago Outdoor Film Festival是每年夏天的一個市區免費活動.在Grant Park內的Butler Field上放映.放的影片都是經典老片.建議你至少帶個舖草地的毛巾毯子等比較舒服.很多local的人會帶摺疊椅,或毯子枕頭,或設置架設燭光野餐.還有最好帶驅蟲蠟燭或驅蟲噴液,因為晚上有時會有蚊子.

超齡兒童
Venetian Night是每年七月的最後一個星期六晚上在downtown密西根湖畔的一個大活動.今年是第50屆.大約30裝飾過的船從Shedd Aquarium一帶游行到Monroe Street上的Chicago Yacht Club.所以從Museum Campus一帶到Monroe Street上的湖邊都可以看到.游行大約一小時.9:30pm左右,會有約20分鐘的煙火表演.以往年的經驗,我個人認為這個煙火表演其實比國慶煙火好看.感覺上煙火種類比較多樣化一點.
我個人對這船隻游行活動覺得普通.我去的主要目的是看它之後的煙火秀.

Chicago Free Trolleys是芝加哥一個Downtown免費的觀光車,有幾條不同的觀光路線,在一些主要景點站或CTA站及火車站上下車.在5/26到9/3這段期間裏,每天時間10 AM to 6 PM.Taste of Chicago期間則到7pm.Navy Pier路線在平日時間到11pm,週末時間到1am.Lincoln Park路線只有在週末的時候從10 AM to 6 PM.班次頻率為每20-30分鐘一班.
這觀光車是個小型的車,所以如果你是提著大行李,那這不適合.此外班次不是那麼多,也如意塞滿,所以如果你買了CTA pass的話,使用CTA還是比較方便.

* Cultural Center Tour
芝加哥文化中心(Chicago Culture Center)是芝加哥的一個歷史建築地標,也是芝加哥最多人到訪的景點之一.一年四季都有免費的文化性節目.建築內部雍有全世界最大的Tiffany glass dome.遊客中心也設在一樓,可以拿到很多有用的旅遊資訊和折價簿.這個tour參觀內部的建築設計.
時間:
Wednesdays : 1:15 p.m.
Fridays : 1:15 p.m.
Saturdays : 1:15 p.m.

77 E. Randolph St. 在Randolph Street 入口的大廳集合.限20人.
* River North Gallery District's Starbucks *
River North 號稱中心部的SoHo區,雍有的畫廊的數量全過僅次於紐約的Soho.這是當地畫廊贊助的一個活動.在當地的Starbuck咖啡廳集合,會有藝術導遊帶去參觀四個畫廊.

每週六 11am.
