六月到紐約旅遊的棧友, 時間如果充裕, 可以在週末到康尼島 (Coney Island) 逛逛, 周邊的店家很有老美國的風味, 古老的遊樂園十分精典, 著名的 nathan's 熱狗本店和熱狗大賽就在這裡舉行

歡樂夏日來臨，以夏日遊憩著名的布碌崙康尼島遊樂區(Coney Island Astroland)也排出免費活動，其中包括男性最愛的「美人魚遊行」和風靡孩童的夏日煙火。
6月22日起至8月底，是康尼島特有的周五晚間煙火秀季節，只要天氣許可，每周五晚間8時30分到10時，在10街和12街之間，沿著海灘的木板步道(Boardwalk)上施放煙火，並將有Miss Saturn's Hula-Pa-Looza歌舞表演。
6月23日(周六)第廿三屆美人魚遊行(Mer-maid Parade)，雖然在下午2時才開始，但每年遊行當天，從上午就會看到許多年輕美女，有的盛裝打扮成美人魚，有的在炎炎夏日穿著清涼，還有些人會自製特殊服裝，或在各種車輛上化裝，播音樂，勁車加美女，舞動出激情一夏。
6月26日（周二）中午，為慶祝Cyclone雲霄飛車80周年慶，將開生日派對，該雲霄飛車將在今年夏天結束後風光退場，進行整修改建。
7月4日國慶日，雖是周三，康尼島也不能缺席，主辦單位表示預計會有特別活動，屆時再宣布活動內容。7月10日（周二）為警察日(Police Anchor Day)。7月21日(周六)的賽倫音樂嘉年華(Siren Music Festival)也是一大盛事，希臘神話中的女海妖賽倫，擅長以迷幻歌聲媚惑航海人，使人不知不覺落入她的陷阱，被海吞噬，這場音樂嘉年華，由下午2時開始，號稱就像賽倫的歌聲一樣，瘋狂炫麗，讓人無法自拔。

丈母娘把你女兒交出來
Old Bethpage Village Restoration 是一個富有19世紀舊美國小村鎮風味的地方﹐可以算是唯一保存歷史遺跡的露天“博物館”。到現時﹐仍然有人在裡面過19世紀的生活。到那裡參觀﹐可以體會到19世紀美國鄉村生活﹐ 很適合一家大小去活動。
今年7/4﹐小村鎮會有一個類似1865年代慶祝 Independence Day 的活動﹐屆時會有19世紀音樂欣賞﹐露天野餐﹐19世紀小型BASEBALL 比賽﹐活動時間由早上10開始到下午5點結束。地點鄰近JONES BEACH﹐到時活動結束後還可以去看JONES BEACH煙火。

不毒枉為女人
Jones beach is the best place to be on the 4th of July! They have fireworks that rival the famous Macy's fireworks in NYC and the fireworks are launched from barges out in the ocean making it all the more beautiful. Suggestions: Go early. The parking lot fills up by 5:00 PM and so you should pack a picnic dinner and plan to camp out on the beach. Try and get a spot opposite the board walk near the barges. Take a good camera or video camera. Plan on taking 2 - 3 hours to get home after it is all over!! The traffic jam is the worst you will ever see, but well worth it!!
Showtime is 9:30pm.

【美聯社紐約八日電】市民共用腳踏車有助於實現綠色城市的目標，在歐洲一些城市陸續開始並且行之有效，但紐約是否可行？持肯定答案的「城市設計論壇」7日開始提供20輛腳踏車，擺在蘇荷區藝術與設計商店門外，供市民騎用，進行為期五天的歐式綠色交通試驗，如果成功，將設計一年的共享計畫。
「城市設計論壇」執行主任哈斯克說：「歐洲主要城市都有腳踏車共享，我們想從試驗中獲得啟示，紐約的可行性究竟多大。」
蘇荷區藝術與設計商店的牆上，貼著歐洲八座城市實行腳踏車共享計畫。自7日開始，每人都可取一輛車免費騎半小時，但需提供信用卡號，以保證還車。
身為律師的莎隆．瓊斯8日取走一輛，她說：「我不大在城裡騎車，試騎一下很有趣。紐約真正開始讓市民騎車了。」
瑞典的斯德哥爾摩人口80萬，有一千輛腳踏車，可在80個地方取還，法國里昂的腳踏車為三千輛，取還地點350個。巴黎計劃9日實施腳踏車共享，設有750個取還處，提供一萬輛腳踏車。
騎車人通常需交會費，騎畢後可在原處，也可在其他地點還車。如同租車人一樣，可上網查找距離最近的腳踏車站點。共享計畫由在腳踏車上做廣告的商家贊助。紐約腳踏車共享計畫定9、10兩日舉行民眾集會，贊助商將介紹歐洲的經驗，也希望民眾為更好地實施計畫而集思廣益。

The 80th Annual Feast of San Gennaro, New York City's oldest, biggest and best religious street festival will be celebrated starting Thursday, September 13, and continuing through Sunday, September 23, 2007.
Processions
There are usually two parades, each featuring the Statue of San Gennaro. Each parade will begin on Mulberry Street between Canal and Bayard Streets (one block south of Canal Street), and will proceed north along Mulberry Street to East Houston Street, east along Houston for one block to Mott Street, south on Mott to Grand Street, west on Grand to Mulberry and south on Mulberry to Canal.
The parades are usually scheduled as follows:
Last Saturday in September
The annual Grand Procession, starting at 2 p.m., with the statue of San Gennaro carried from its permanent home in the Most Precious Blood Church through the streets of Little Italy.
Last Sunday in September
The Official Feast Day
2 PM: Celebratory Mass in honor of San Gennaro.
3 PM: Religious Procession
Statue of San Gennaro carried through the Feast immediately after Celebratory Mass
