53th day in South America, Calafate, Argentina

褲襠裡有條龍
So quickly I have traveled for nearly 2 months
Things renewed so fast that I rarely had any time to recall what happened
After antarctica cruise from 1/28-2/7, I finished the W trekking in Paine with 5 days niuce weather. Lucky!
The torres could be seen far away through the window of bus, so I was not so surprised when arrived its base. Its appearance in dark, however, was still astonishing because the obvious outfigure was the only thing you could identify before sunrise
My favortite place was definitely Franch Vally, surrounded by Cuernos on one side and other ice mountains on the other. After a 1 hr more trekking beyond the Mirador indicated in the map, you could even see two of the torres from the valley. Nice!
The glaciar, as I heard from the others, was not so atrractive in comparison with antarctica. I wcould, however, resist the words of[I survived the W] on the Tshirt sold in the Refugio. Thus I went there and was really disappointed.......... The suggestion is, if you do not really care about whether the W is done, you could just reach the mirador on the half way to the glaciar camping site, from which you could get a great whole view of the glaciar
Anyway I felt satisfied with the achivement of W

Now I stayed in Calafate. After the PeritoMoreno glaciar and the trekking in El Chalten, I plan to cross back to chile and keep northward along the carretera austral. I rarely heard asian travellers going along this way but some israle poeple told me that is really nice. I will try and share the experiences with you guys.

happy new year!
我想陪你吹吹風
Nice, we just left El Calafate last weekend, so expensive.

So I guess you can enjoy their fiesta this weekend. The beauty queen election is awesome, haha. Since you did the W, you will be able to do Fitz Roy circuit as well, make Cerro Torre top priority because it´s hardest to see.

While we hiked in Fitz Roy region, was hot in the morning, chill in the afternoon and started snowing heavily in the evening. Be prepared for 4 seasons in one day and have fun. I also travelled two months in Chile and Argentina. In Mendoza now for my last day of vacation, south America rocks!!!

It's nice to do trekking in El Chalten. I was lucky when I woke up in the morning (Dec. 13, 2006). The people stayed in the same hostel told me that the weather was so badly for the past few days. When they saw the sunny morning, they said to me that I am very lucky. And I realized the weather can change immediately in Patagonia. So I hiked up to Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre with a swiss girl. The return trekking took us around 8 hours. The weather was so wondeful.
All my photos turn out well.

Good Luck to you!
