I will go to south africa next march, 2013,
I wonder its safe to take the shuttle bus from JNB airport to Klerksdorp
i have been checking some info there, minibus taxies are a big no no , and its not a good idea to take minibus ?
I also checked some shuttle bus's timetable and price, but the only thing i am really concerned is bout, is it a safe transportation ?
Also is there any thing I need to be aware once I am in south africa? heard its quite dangerous to walk alone on the street or nite..

Apology for the late response, Yes... Dont take mini bus.
South Africa itself dont have much public transport. The only possible way is to get yourself a rental car.
May I ask whats the reason to visit Klerksdorp? This town is really rural and distant to all major cities.
Walking on the street/night is not recommended as security will be a problem.

Hi,
1. Depend how much is your budget and how many person, the easiest way is rent a car and drive to Kruger (about 4hours driving), or take a flight from Johannesburg to Nelspruit, then rent a car or just get a pick-up to hostel.
If budget really low, then take a bus to Koomatipoort or Hazyview.
2. Can look at Hostelworld for backpacker options in Hazyview and Koomatipoort. Remember Kruger is very very huge, so if you stay outside, you can only visit small area of Kruger. You can book yourself accomodation in Kruger at very low rate (http://www.intercape.co.za/home/).
3. Car rental is cheap and better way to travel in South Africa. Can just rent any small cars from airport or from Nelspruit. Kruger is mostly paved so no need 4x4.

如租3天 = 3X 200KM = 600KM - 超過600KM租車公司會另外收費
光去克魯格一趟就要550KM左右. 來回就要1100KM. 根本滑不來
